In an inspiring show of generosity and community spirit, the K-8 chess team at St. Anne School, Seattle, surprised the Fulcrum Foundation by donating the profits from their annual chess tournaments to support students throughout the archdiocese.
The 48-member chess team is a signature after-school program for young chess enthusiasts. They hosted two successful tournaments and graciously donated their profits with the “hope of making a meaningful impact and providing resources for students who might need financial assistance,” said Principal Heidi Austin.
Fulcrum staff visited the team and thanked them for their incredible kindness—complete with tasty doughnuts for all! As the students at St. Anne School continue to hone their chess skills, they are also learning important lessons in empathy, teamwork, and service to others. Go Celtics!
