Kristin Dixon, the superintendent for Catholic schools, has announced her plan to retire later this year. Kristin has served as superintendent since 2017, working tirelessly to lead and support Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Seattle.
In a letter announcing her retirement to the archdiocesan schools, Kristin wrote, “I have been blessed to work with you. I have learned so very much from each one of you, and I have relied heavily on the shared wisdom and experience of this mighty group of Catholic school leaders. Each of you has shared many joys and carried many a burden, day in and day out, with love for Catholic education. You have and will continue to seek, find, and build the Kingdom of God in our schools right here in Western Washington. Together, our schools have been and will continue to be a shining light of hope for our world.”
Kristin’s leadership and dedication to Catholic education have been an inspiration. The Fulcrum Foundation will sorely miss her guidance and friendship.
After a rigorous search process, Archbishop Paul D. Etienne announced Kristin’s successor as Nicholas Ford, the current principal of St. Patrick School in Tacoma.
Nicholas has worked in the Archdiocese since 2012, when he started teaching at Our Lady of Fatima School in Seattle, and eventually became principal in 2016. Previously, he was the Dean of Studies for Gonzaga Primary School in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Fulcrum looks forward to working with Nicholas as he steps into this new role. His experience in the Archdiocese of Seattle and his love of Catholic education will serve him well as he begins a new chapter in his life.
