Mission Moment: Giving Hope

December 4, 2019

The Fulcrum Foundation is giving the gift of hope.

The Fulcrum Tuition Assistance Grant Program (TAP) provides life-changing grants to families in need of tuition aid. In the 2019/20 school year, Fulcrum will give more than $2 million in tuition assistance.

“Tuition assistance offers hope, not just for the families that aren’t able to access Catholic education, but also for a world that is hungering for the kinds of leaders that Catholic schools produce,” said Susan Ocoma, Programs Director at Fulcrum.

Research shows that Catholic school graduates are more likely to graduate from college, earn higher wages, be civically engaged and be committed to service*. “Excellent academics paired with faith formation makes for a very special experience, one that should be available to all,” Susan said.

But it’s not always easy for families to find the courage to access available resources.

“Asking for help is one of the hardest things families do. I get more phone calls from parents crying because they are so upset about needing to ask for help than I can count,” Susan said.

More than 1,500 students will benefit from TAP aid this year, but there are still many more students who need help gaining access to a Catholic education.

“Fulcrum is currently only able to fund about one-third of TAP requests received,” said Susan. “So, while we are doing so much good, we wish we could say yes to all that apply.”

Your generosity can help reduce this unmet need of many of our families. Please make a gift today! Know that your gift offers hope that Catholic education provides to students who will go on and make a positive difference in our world.
