The Fulcrum team is thrilled to share that the newly launched Ambassador Program is off to a strong start. Through this program, Fulcrum will focus on building relationships directly with schools in the Seattle Archdiocese. The ambassador team, comprised of staff, ambassadors and donors, visit different schools twice per month to learn more about their unique school communities. The team is tasked to build brand awareness for Fulcrum and its efforts on behalf of Catholic schools in the area, and increase fundraising for schools by inspiring new donors.

On October 18, the ambassador team joined Fulcrum leaders for the program’s second site visit at Our Lady of the Lake (OLL) School in North Seattle.

The visit kicked off with an impactful roundtable discussion with Daniel Mullen, OLL’s Principal, Vice Principal Bonnie Meyer, school counselor Katie Denniston, speech and drama director Jennifer Kush, and parent representatives Deven McCoy and Jennifer Todd. Tom and Rowayne Maguire, longtime OLL parishioners and school alumni parents, also joined the tour and provided some context of how OLL has changed during Father Tim Clark’s time as Pastor at Our Lady of the Lake Parish. The roundtable offered unique insights into the history of the school and community and the strengths and challenges that the students and families experience.

The ambassador team then took a full tour of the school, met with GRACE teachers, and concluded the visit with a discussion with Father Tim who shared insights from his 14 years of ministry within the community. Father Tim also spoke about the importance of looking to the future and shared the newly launched ONE OLL, a strategic planning process of connectedness between the parish and the school.

We are confident from observing Daniel Mullen and Father Tim that a strong bond has already formed and they will continue to build on the parish and school collaboration.

"It was a blessing to welcome Fulcrum to Our Lady of the Lake,” says Daniel Mullen of the visit. “We take pride in being a welcoming school community, and Fulcrum's support helps makes a Catholic school experience possible for a number of our students. Fulcrum donors also generously support Leadership Development at OLL, empowering our group of teacher-leaders to gain valuable skills while improving student learning."

We are inviting members of the Fulcrum family to join us on our future tours. Please contact Stephanie Singler, at stephanie.singler@fulcrumfoundation.org, if you are interested in hearing more.
